In the Bible, King Solomon understood the language of the plants and animals. St. Paul, on the other hand, understood the language of the angels. This is the reason why, we are saying that, the Bible is a compilation of every truth regarding life here on earth and in the heavens. In other words, there are many speakers in the Bible, and not all utterances came from God. For that reason, we cannot claim that there are no flaws in the Bible, because there are pronouncements here, which came from the non-believers. Like what we can read in Job 22:15, “Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?” When this part was read by those who lacked understanding of the Bible, they readily remarked, “Those who are in Soriano’s Dating Daan (the Old Way) are wicked!” Simply because they read that, they old way was trodden by wicked men, they already made a sweeping conclusion. Obviously, the ones who said that were not using their heads. If that pronouncement really came from God, then, by all means, we will not be against it. But, it did not! Now, if God will be asked, what did He say about the “old way”? In Jer. 6:16, it says, “Thus said the Lord, stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.”
God said that, the old path is the good way. But, why was there a claim that the old way was trodden by wicked men? Did that statement come from God, or from somebody else?
In studying the Bible, you have to find out first who is the one speaking. And then, verify who is he talking to, and when did it happen. You have to establish all these details first for you to see and understand the truth. For example, did God really say, “Be fruitful and multiply?” Yes, He did! But the question is, to whom did He say it? Was it to the drunkard? If that is the case, then, the earth will be filled with drunkards! There might be a shortage of liquor, when it happens. Was God, then, talking to the drug addict? Why don’t we read the Bible to confirm, whom was God talking to. In Gen. 6:13-14,17, it says, “And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without pitch. … And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and everything that is in the earth shall die.”
Was humanity wiped out, or not? How many were left? Eight: Noah and his household. All the wicked were eliminated. And after the universal deluge, God spoke to Noah. Gen. 9:1 says, “And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.”
Who was God talking to? God was addressing the upright men. Otherwise, if he was also addressing the wicked, why, then, did He have to eliminate the rest of mankind? The ones who were commanded to “be fruitful and multiply” were the 8 upright souls – Noah and his family.
The problem is, even those who lack sense of responsibility … even the jobless, who have nothing to feed their children, thought that they were also being commanded to multiply! This world will become a miserable and a despicable place if it will be filled with irresponsible people. The commandment, “Be fruitful and multiply,” concerned only a particular group of people … at a particular period of time. Do not interpret the Bible by yourself. Chances are, your interpretation is wrong! What do I mean to say?
If you are going to study the Bible, you must bear in mind that, although the Bible contains the words of God. And, although it is a revelation of the Almighty … although it is a compilation of old truths about men and God, it also contains pronouncements, which did not come from God. It also contains words that contradict God’s words. But we are not concerned about those. Our main concern is the words of God, written in the Bible. And how are we to know whether a pronouncement came from God? Prov. 8:8-9 says, “All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.”

The fool denies the existence of God. There are a lot of people today who do not believe in God. There are a lot of people today who do not believe in God. What some people say that the Bible is the word of God is wrong. Even the words of the fool are also written in the Bible, even the words of the devil and even the words of those who do not believe, just like Thomas when our Lord Jesus Christ resurrected, written in John 20:25—
“The other disciples therefore said upon him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and thrust my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
What kind of words are those? Those are the words of someone who does not believe. He will never believe unless he sees. That is where the saying, “to see is to believe,” came from. But is that correct? Can you see your mind? No! Does that mean that simply because you can not see your mind you do not believe the existence of your mind? To say that you will not believe unless you see it is a wrong principle.
In the Bible, there are words that came from non-believers, and there are also words that came from believers, like the centurion. In Matthew 8:5-10,13 it says—
“And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him. And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof; but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. … And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believeth, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.”
Those are the words of a person with a very strong faith. He believes that even if Christ would not go to his place, his servant would be healed. No need to touch the TV screen, as a point of contact. Christ simply uttered the word, and the servant was healed. But, was the servant that was healed, a man of faith, or not? He had been bed-ridden, so how could he have faith? How could he believe? Nowadays, preachers who introduce themselves as “men of God,” still instruct their ailing viewers or listeners, to touch their radio or TV set, if they want to be healed. That is plain “acting.” When Christ healed the servant, He did not have to go to the house of the centurion. He only said the word, and the servant was healed. And Christ healed even the non-believers. Unlike today when pretentious pastors act to show they are men of God, then, they must have the capacity to heal all of those who are sick. They must prove that they can do what our Lord Jesus Christ has done. They are just fooling the people. Even the Passion (“Pasyon”) gave a stern warning against false pastors:
“Ang mga pagmimilagro (The miracles that they perform) Tutulungan ng demonyo (will be assisted by the devil) Anopa’t mangangabayo (He will go riding a horse) At dito sa buong mundo (And in this whole world) Maghahari itong lilo (This deceiver will reign)
They are very dangerous, my fellowmen. Please, take caution.
Going back to our topic, definitely, there are contradictions that can be read in the Bible, inasmuch as not everything that it contains came from God. The Bible is a compilation of all the events. The Bible contains the words of those who are on the side of God; there are also words coming from those who are against God. As there are words coming from the preachers of God, there are also words from the preachers of the devil. It contains words from the prophets of God, and also words from false prophets. It contains the words of man, the words of animals, and the words of plants. In fact, King Solomon was able to converse with a plant.
Others might say, “That is not true! How can a plant talk?” Recently, it was discovered in Japan, through modern technology, that a plant has the capacity to listen and to feel. Scientists placed a connecting rod and sensor to the plant, and they played a jubilant music. As a result, the plant became happy. But when they played a melancholic music, the plant also became sad. The leaves began to wither. That is why, if you are growing flowering plants, you must talk to them. You should also talk to animals. There are also things that make pigs happy. Try playing fast music in the pigpen, and see how the pigs relish their food. But try playing a solemn and somber music, and probably the pigs will no longer eat with gusto. What the Japanese discovered about plants and animals must be true. Just try observing your pet dog at home. If a stranger comes to your house, it will surely bark. But once you try stopping him, the dog will obey. In the Bible, King Solomon understood the language of the plants and animals. St. Paul, on the other hand, understood the language of the angels. This is the reason why we are saying that the Bible is a compilation of every truth regarding life here on earth and in the heavens. In other words, there are many speakers in the Bible, but not all utterances came from God. For that reason, we cannot claim that there are no flaws in the Bible, because there are pronouncements here which came from the non-believers. Like what we can read in Job 22:15—
“Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?”
When this part was read by those who lacked understanding of the Bible, they readily remarked, “Those who are in Eli Soriano’s Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) are wicked!” Simply because they read that, “the old way was trodden by wicked men,” they already made a sweeping conclusion. Obviously, the ones who said that verse were not using their heads. If that pronouncement really came from God, then, by all means, we will not be against it. But, it did not! Now, if God will be asked, what did He say about the “old path”? In Jeremiah 6:16, it says—
“Thus said the Lord, stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.”
God said that, the old path is the good way. Let us study some claims that the old way was trodden by wicked men? Did that statement come from God, or from somebody else?
In studying the Bible, we have to find the speaker. Then, with whom the speaker is talking with, and the time the conversation happened. You have to establish all these details to see and understand the truth. For example, did God really say, “Be fruitful and multiply?” Yes, He did! But the question is: to whom did He say it? Was it to the drunkard? If that is the case, then, the earth will be filled with drunkards! There might be a shortage of liquor, when it happens. Was God, then, talking to the drug addict? In the Bible, let us read to confirm with whom was God talking to (Genesis 6:13-14,17)—
“And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Genesis 9:1 says—
“And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.”

The Bible declares that— “ALL the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.” If anyone can prove that God gave false pronouncements – or, even a single wrong pronouncement – then, we must not believe the Bible anymore! God, however, says that there is nothing false or perverse in His words. On the other hand, if there are no contradictions in the Bible, why is it that one verse in the Bible says that Joaquim will reign for 8 years, while another verse tells that he will reign for 18 years? Are they not contradictory? Granting without accepting, the question is, why do situations like that arise? Genesis 2:16-17 says—
“And the Lord God commanded the man saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
These verses were read by Mr. Damian Sotto. He even continued reading until Genesis 3:4—
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die.”
Are they not contradictory? God told Adam, on the day that you eat the fruit you shall surely day. On the other hand, the serpent said, you shall not die. Some people insisted that those verses contradict each other. On the surface, it may appear to be right, but, if we study the verses very well, we will come to realize why those statements are contradictory. The first statement comes from God, while the other comes from the serpent. None of His words are contradictory.
Do you know who is that serpent whose words are against the words of God? In Revelations 12:9—
“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
Who is the serpent? It is Satan. No wonder, why he was uttering statements that contradict God’s, because he is an enemy of God. But, as far as the words of God are concerned, there are no contradictions! NONE! Therefore, if statements contradict each other, for sure, one of them did not come from God. Another example is 1 Corinthians 6:12—
“All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”
If we are to ask some people, they will say all their actions are lawful and correct. For example, there are people who add little sugar to their “adobo” because they prefer that their “adobo” taste a little bit sweet. For these people, nothing is wrong with adding sugar to their “adobo” because for some people, all the things that they do are lawful and correct. But if we continue reading, it says, not all things are expedient. That is why conflict and contradictions are bound to arise.
But, God is an absolute God! He is upright and righteous! Unlike man! Not everything that man perceives to be righteous is also righteous in the sight of God. Why? Proverbs 14:12 says—
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
A person may perceive one particular path/way to be right, but is only insofar as his personal perception is concerned. For example, whatever man thinks to be right may not be absolutely right for God. More often than not, what man perceives to be right is wrong. For these reasons, contradictions are bound to happen. If the Bible contains contradictions, it is primarily because, not all the words there came from God! The Bible is a compilation of truths. But whether something is a lie or the truth, that is the reality. They did happen, and they were all written in the Bible. Everything had been recorded in the Bible so that man will be able to distinguish the truth from lies. We have to exercise our wisdom in discerning which words are of God, and which are not.
The Bible exemplifies the whole world. In this world, there are cheaters and there are people being cheated; there are robbers, and there are those who are being robbed; there are fornicators, while the others are their objects of fornication. All kinds of people are there. And, if we adopt everything that these people do, our world would become a very chaotic place.
The Bible is picture of the entire world, and it tells the complete story to the whole of humanity. And it is up to us to choose what is good or bad for us. However, there are people who prefer the bad from the good, that is why the outcome is also bad.
Whenever you read the Bible, identify where a certain pronouncement came from: are they from God, or not? If they came from God, you can be sure that they are absolutely correct, they are free from all flaws and errors, and they are free from any kind of contradiction. But if they did not come from God, definitely, they will oppose God’s words. Not all things written in the Bible are words of God. It also contains words of angels, and also words of those who do not believe in God. In fact, Psalms 53:1 says—
“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt they are, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.”To be continued

How the Bible differ from other books? By Bro. Eli Soriano http://www.angdatingdaan.org/biblicaltopics/bib_bible_1.htm
Is everything written in the Bible true? Are there valid proofs or pieces of evidence that the Bible really came from God? Must we believe the Bible? How does the Bible differ from other books written by man? These are the questions that we will seek answers for. And we will do it by using the Bible as our basis.
We must not accept other people’s contention that the Bible must not be believed in because it was simply written by man. It does not always follow that if a work was just written by man, it is no longer true, and that we must not believe it anymore! Actually, the Koran as well the Book of Mormons was also written by men. But there is something unique about the Bible—written by 40 penmen, the Bible was guided and inspired with the Holy Spirit. Must we believe everything that was written in the Bible? We are going to answer all these, one by one, through the Holy Scriptures.
One of the vital issues that many people raise is that the Bible contains many contradictions. We must investigate the validity of this claim. Besides, it is wise for a Christian to know the deepest part of the Bible, which is the basis of our faith.
Are there really contradictions in the Bible? In a commentary made by Ahmed Deedat about the Bible, he said that, the Bible contains a number of errors and contradictions. And on that premise, we will begin our discussion: insofar as the word of God is concerned, Will there ever be a possibility that God would contradict Himself?
First of all, to contradict oneself is against the law. The law, particularly under the Rules on Evidence, states that, you cannot contradict yourself. You just cannot stand on something today, which you will deny, or falsify, the next day!
The following are the instances of conclusive presumptions: Whenever a party has, by his own declaration, act or omission, intentionally and deliberately led another to believe a particular thing true, and to act upon such belief, he cannot, in any litigation arising out of such declaration, act of omission, be permitted to falsify it; (Rule 131 (a), Rules on Evidence) A witness may be impeached by the party against whom he was called, by contradictory evidence, by evidence that his general reputation for truth, honesty or integrity is bad, or by evidence that he has made at other times inconsistent with his present testimony, but not by evidence or particular wrongful acts, except that it may be shown by the examination of the witness, or the record of the judgment, that he has been convicted of an offense. (Rule 132, Rules on Evidence)
If we are given the responsibility not to contradict ourselves, more so with God! Just like what Romans 14:22 says—
“Hast thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.”
That is the principle of the Bible: Happy is he that condemns not himself in that thing which he allowed. It is not right that a person condemns, or contradicts, the things that he had previously agreed to. It will appear that he is unprincipled. But God is a principled God! Therefore, God will never contradict Himself; God will never oppose Himself!
Verses that will prove that God will not contradict Himself is in Proverbs 8:8-9—
“All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.”
This is the God’s claim in the Bible, quite a tough claim. This is a statement of assurance, or guarantee, to the readers of the Bible. Unfortunately, the Vedas (Hindus), the Book of Mormons, as well as the other books that claim that they are of God, do not offer that kind of assurance. It is only in the Bible where you can read such definite pronouncement. And it was God, Himself, who said this, through the writings of King Solomon— “All the words of my mouth are in righteousness.”
God said, ALL! When a pronouncement comes from God, they are all of righteousness. And should you find any false pronouncement, they did not come from God. Unlike the book of Bahaula’s teaching that God created everything by pair. At first glance, the claim may seem correct. Left hand is paired with right hand; right foot is paired with left foot; right ear paired with left ear; man is paired with a woman; tall and short, etc. However, in recent studies, one-celled organisms like the spirogyra could reproduce without a pair. These organisms do not need a female to reproduce. They reproduce by cell division. There are no males and females. In other words, Science had proven Bahaula’s claim to be wrong.

ACCEPTING THE TRUE CHRIST OF THE BIBLE Part 4 By Bro. Eli Soriano http://www.angdatingdaan.org/biblicaltopics/bibtopics.htm
Continuation:
Another church which is popular is the Mormon church, which they call as the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. They also have another Christ. Theirs is a white Christ. They believe that Christ came to America as a white god. And if you are going to ask our Lord Jesus Christ if he is white, he will definitely answer NO. I can read a verse to prove that he is not white. How dare you convert him to be an American? He is a Jew. Do not do that to our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Mormons claim that their Christ is a white god. That's a big hoax. It's a big lie because the Christ of the Bible does not permit his minister to marry more than one at a time, or to be the husband of so many women. Joseph Smith, who allegedly was ordained by Christ in the woods, had married four dozen wives! Can you imagine that? He is so fond of women. He had forty eight wives, when in fact Jesus Christ said in the Bible through the apostle Paul that the bishop must be blameless, the husband of one wife!
1Tim 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
1Tim 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
That is the kind of bishop that our Lord Jesus Christ ordains in the Church of God. It is not like the bishop of the Mormons who can have four dozen wives! It implies that the Christ of the Mormons, which they call the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, is another Christ. It is not the Jesus Christ of the scriptures.
There is a very great distinction between the Christ of the scriptures and the Christ being preached by false prophets. If you are not that careful in accepting any other Christ, then you may accept the Christ of Jimmy Swaggart. What kind of Christ did he preach? I am sorry to say, he is doing something not in accordance to the will of Christ. If his Christ is the Christ of the scriptures, he must not have done that. There are so many famous American evangelists preaching Christ, claiming that they have accepted Christ as their own personal Lord and savior. If they are really servants of Christ and if they have really accepted Christ as their savior, why are they teaching doctrines which are anti-Christ? And why are they not teaching the entire doctrine of our Lord Jesus Christ?
I used to see the wife of Jim Bakker when I was a little younger whenever I watch their television program in the Philippines. She was adorned with so many decorations. They are preaching another Christ because the Christ of these people allows them to spoil their body by putting too much decoration. If you are really following the Christ of the scriptures, Christ said through the apostle Paul:
1Tim 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
But these women preachers in the United States, their apparel proves that they have another kind of Christ other than the Christ of the scriptures. Just read that verse and apply it to these pretended preachers and Christians in the United States, you will very surely come to a conclusion that their Christ is not the Christ of the scriptures. The scriptures tell us that women should adorn themselves in modest apparel. " Modest", we don't have to further elaborate or define this word. We know what modest means. But with those decorations they put to their heads, you can see that these women are not Christians. They are not really followers of the real Christ of the scriptures.
I do not want to judge anybody, but by applying the scriptures to what we see, we will come to that inevitable conclusion that these people are not really adherers to Christianity. They are not really Christians because if you are a real Christian, you must obey every commandment of Christ as he has said to the apostles:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
That is the last commandment he gave to the apostles before he ascended to heaven. He told his apostles to teach his disciples in all nations to observe all things whatsoever, "Whatsoever I have commanded thee..." Maybe they will say that it is just a small thing but it is not. It is not simple. It is not easy to reject if you are a biblical person. It is written that women should adorn themselves with modest apparel but they do not adorn themselves with modest apparel. They are putting all kinds of decoration to their body.
If you will see these women preachers in the United States, you will be disgusted upon seeing them in your television screens. You can readily presume that these women are not Christians. Because if you are a Christian and you are Christian enough in following the doctrines and tenets of Christianity, you must adorn yourself with modest apparel.
That is why, on this point, we are just trying to remind our listeners, our brothers and sisters in faith, that not all Christs are the same. Different religious groups teach different Christs. There are false Christs and false prophets. We have to accept Christ but the Christ we have to accept is the Christ of the scriptures, and that is the Christ that was preached by the apostles.
So, accepting the entire teachings of the apostles or being apostolic is being a real Christian. The real Christ of the scriptures is the entire teaching of the gospel. That is the real Christ of the Bible. Christ is the word. He is the teaching. He is the wisdom of God. He is the light in the darkness of this world, and the light is the teaching. That is the real Christ of the scriptures. He is not a man, nor a painting, nor a piece of wood, nor an image made of gold, silver or plastic. Now, because plastic is in abundance, they already have a Christ made of plastic as well. We must not believe that Christ is also the Father, as the oneness movement say. The Christ of the Bible is the teaching of the gospel. The word of God ( John 1:1) He is the wisdom of God (1 Cor. 2:6-8). He is the power and wisdom of God (1 Cor 1:24). Being the wisdom of God, he is the word of God. He is the teachings. That is the real Christ of the scriptures.
The final conclusion is that Christ is the teaching of God. He is the teaching that we can receive from the gospel, from the apostles. Let us read:
Col 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
The Christ Jesus that we have to receive is a way wherein we must walk. It is very clear in that verse, "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him ". He is not a human being. If you are fat and heavy and will accept the Christ of the Iglesia ni Cristo, which according to them is a man, then you will pity that Christ. What will happen to that Christ if you walk in him?
The Christ of the scriptures is one whom you can walk in. How are you going to walk in him? Let us continue in verse 7:
Col 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
"Rooted and built up in him, established in the faith as ye have been taught." The Christ of the scriptures is the teachings of the gospel, the teachings of the apostles, the revelation they have received from Christ and the Lord God himself. It is the real Christ that we have to receive, the teaching, the word, the wisdom, the gospel. That is the real Christ that we have to receive and upon receiving that Christ we will be saved.
But are we going to stop after receiving Christ? What are the other things that must be done in order to be saved? Granting that we have accepted Christ, what is the next thing that you have to do? Is it true that once you have received Christ you are saved and once saved always saved, according to what the Baptist church claims? Once saved always saved or OSAS as they put it in abbreviation? That is again another lie, bigger than the biggest chapel of the Baptists. I am sorry but we are going to prove to you that it is not true that once saved you are always saved; whatever happens, whatever you do.
Before, I had a debate with a Baptist minister in Angeles City, Philippines. He is claiming that once you have accepted Christ, do whatever you wish, you are saved, come what may. I even asked him, "Even if you kill a person? Even if you commit fornication, you are still saved? He said. "YES!" Can you imagine him answering me that way? What kind of a Christ have you received? He taught you to be malicious, to be opportunistic. These are teachings that never in my wildest dreams will I teach. Imagine, accepting Christ and committing a crime yet you will still be saved? Accepting Christ and being unfaithful to your husband or wife and then you will be saved? Is that true?
Let us accept Christ. Granting we have accepted him, what is next? Is this notion that once saved you are always saved is true? Is it true that if you are saved already there is no chance for you to be a reprobate? Our next topic is very important. Let us find that out in the continuation of this topic.

ACCEPTING THE TRUE CHRIST OF THE BIBLE Part 3 By Bro. Eli Soriano http://www.angdatingdaan.org/biblicaltopics/bibtopics.htm
Continuation:
The Christ of the Catholic church is also different from the Christ of the Bible. There are so many Christs, but the pictures of those Christs are not exactly resembling one another. They have so many faces for Christ, proving that these Christs are inventions of their artists or painters. Where did they get those pictures from? It came from the wildest imaginations of the artists. But, not from my wildest dreams will I think that Christ is a negro. He's a Jew. His color must be red, not black. In the Philippines, we have a Christ which is called the Black Nazarene. Why black? Because the wood that was used, which is apito, is black. That is the simple, stupid reason behind it. Are you not insulting Christ that way?
Please pardon us if we are frank in exposing these things, but we have to be especially careful when we deal with things which are divine. There are people who have their delicadeza in eating. They do not just eat. They choose restaurants and caterers who will serve them. There are people who are health-conscious. They do not just eat anything. They have their own delicadeza. There are judges, that because of delicadeza, they inhibit themselves in cases where there might be some suspicion of biases or partiality. They will inhibit themselves because of delicadeza. But there are those judges that will still insist even though it is obvious that there are biases. These are without delicadeza.
But if you are using delicadeza even in simple things like eating, drinking, or wearing your attire or clothes, the more that you must use delicadeza in religion. Because in religion, we are speaking of salvation, we are speaking of service to God, we are speaking of eternal life, so the more that we have to employ delicadeza. But there are those people who do not simply practice delicadeza when they execute their belief. What do I mean? Are there no other woods to choose from? Why use black wood in creating an image of the Christ knowing that in the Bible he's a Jew? Why make him appear like a negro? I remember a picture that even his hair is depicted as a negro - it's curly.
That is why, please pardon us. We just want to tell you the truth. Not all Christs are the same and not all Christs are the true Christ of the scriptures. The Christ of the scriptures is introduced to us as the wisdom of God in mystery.
1Co 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
1Co 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
1Co 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
If we are going to accept what is written on these verses, the wisdom reveals itself to us. There are verses in the Bible proving that our Lord Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God, and the wisdom reveals itself to us. We will not be mistaken if we will thoroughly study the scriptures and discover what the real Christ of the scriptures is. We have known that Christ is the light of the world, he is the rock. There are billions of Catholics worldwide but why have they believed that the rock from which the church was built or founded is Peter?
Maybe that is because of their lack of effort to search the scriptures, making Peter the rock; interpreting what our Lord Jesus Christ said " upon this rock I will build my church". And according to them, that rock was Peter because of his name Petros. But "Petros" is very much different from "Petra". The Greek word on that particular verse is Petra - in the feminine gender. Petros is in the masculine gender which refers to Peter. Peter is Petros and not Petra. In Matthew 16:18, " upon this Petra (rock), I will build my church". So, it is not Peter. Who then is that Petra? The rock is our Lord Jesus Christ - a very able foundation of the church. Peter is not the foundation. Peter was even one of those who were founded on top of this rock. Let us read that in Eph 2:20
Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
The chief cornerstone is Jesus Christ himself. The church, the apostle and the prophets are built upon the foundation which is Christ. The apostles are not the foundation. They are built upon the foundation. It is impertinent to believe that Peter is the foundation. The apostles including Peter and the prophets were founded upon the rock and that rock is the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us hear from the apostle Peter himself. In the book of Acts 4:10-12
Act 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Act 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
This is a confession Peter made proving that he is not the rock. He is not the chief cornerstone, nor the foundation of the church. It is Christ. That statement came from Peter. And is there any other foundation for faith or for the church? Let us consult the apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 3:11:
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Who is the foundation? It is clear, no other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is .. Peter? No, even Peter is founded on that rock which is our Lord Jesus Christ. Even Peter explained that the foundation which the builders have rejected, which is the chief cornerstone, is Christ. And there is no other name in heaven whereby we will be saved other than our Lord Jesus Christ. How hardheaded these preachers are, that in spite of the faces of these revelations from the Bible they insist that Peter is the rock.
The Christ of the Catholic is different because the Christ of the Bible is the rock. They have made Peter their rock. And because they made Peter as their rock, their foundation became rocky. Their faith is rocky. No Catholic priest can come out in the open and prove that Peter is the first Pope. That is only their claim. Claiming is one thing but proving is another thing. And our program is open for every Catholic priest, Cardinal or even the Pope to prove to us that Peter was the first Pope. We will disprove that using the Bible and using the Catholic books which were printed by them. They cannot prove that Peter was the first Pope nor he is the rock upon which the church was built.
That is why speaking about Christ is a big issue. The Christ of the Iglesia ni Manalo is different from the Christ of the Catholic church. And if we are going to study further, ask the Jehovah's witnesses what is their Christ because they are claiming to be Christians. Again, they will introduce another Christ. Their Christ is a small god and sometimes they deny his deity because they also believe that he is a man – dancing with the tune of the Iglesia ni Manalo's belief. For them, sometimes he is a god and sometimes he is a man.

ACCEPTING THE TRUE CHRIST OF THE BIBLE Part 2 By Bro. Eli Soriano http://www.angdatingdaan.org/biblicaltopics/bibtopics.htm
Continuation:
If you are going to study the history of humanity, religion is the number one and the worst culprit that has put mankind on the brink of Satanism, corruption and everything that is evil. Yes, it is religion. Maybe some people who are not that informed may disagree with me but history will prove me right that there are religions who have doctrines of killing people that refuse to accept their faith. This happened once in the history of the Catholic church. There are other religions also who forced people to accept their faith; they had killed because of their religion.
One good example which is not a hidden thing and is already recorded in the history of mankind was when the Catholic church exercised what they call the "holy inquisition". They had killed people who did not agree with the doctrines of the Catholic church. This "holy inquisition" was made to become instrument of the devil in doing injustice to innocent people through the abuses done by those people who are ordained by the Catholic church to execute this practice. We can read that even in the books of the Catholic church – books that they themselves were the ones who have printed, authenticated, and published.
They were the ones who wrote a book stating that there was evil in the inquisition that happened once in the history of the Catholic church and it was at the height of it's power. There was once a time when the Roman Catholic is so powerful that even kings and rulers of this world are subjected under the power of the Pope in Rome. No wonder that they can do whatever they want to do.
If we will just thoroughly study the history of mankind, I will be proven right that mankind was led to idolatry by religion. Mankind was made to believe in occult by religion. Mankind was led to Satanism by religion. Mankind was led to war by religion also. In fact, political wars, which were initiated by political matters, are fewer than the wars fought on earth because of religious conflicts. Like what happened to England and Ireland in the early history of the Catholic church and the Protestantism ministers. Up to now, history will prove us right that there are great wars that were fought which cost the lives of millions of people because of religious conflicts.
So, the apostle Paul was right when he said that as the serpent have beguiled Eve, he fears that your simple minds be corrupted. How? Because "if he that will come will preach another Jesus..." So, corruption comes from preachers. Not everybody can readily accept what I say but it is Biblical that corruption in the minds of people are being done through the agents of the serpent. These agents are preachers, pastors, ministers who mislead people from the real Christ of the Bible, from the real gospel, and from the real spirit that we have to receive.
We do not disagree on that notion that we have to accept Christ but first we have to be careful in accepting just any Christ because it will corrupt our minds. We will be made twofold more the child of hell than those ones who have convinced us to receive false Jesus and false Christs. It is not just the question of accepting Christ but which Christ are you going to accept. There are so many Christs now and that is very obvious. It is not a hidden thing or a mystery. Although the real Christ of the Bible is a mystery, it is not a mystery but rather a matter of fact that there are so many Christs nowadays.
The Christ of the Iglesia ni Manalo, according to them, is a man from the beginning to the end and unto eternity; he will come back as a man and until eternity is a man. That is another Christ. That is not the Christ of the Bible because the Bible tells us of an exalted Christ. But for the Iglesia ni Manalo, he will never attain exaltation. Let us read in their official magazine which contains their doctrines, the Pasugo:
Pasugo: April 1968, page 34
"Our Lord Jesus Christ will still be a man in nature on his second coming on judgment day. His nature does not change. He never became a God. He was a man at birth. A man when he grew up and preached. A man when he died and was resurrected. A man when he ascended into heaven. A man when he sat at the right hand of God. And still, a man, when he shall descend for the second time."
This is a stupid doctrine. They mean to say that Christ has no chance for exaltation anymore. He will always be a man for them. And upon his coming he will be a man again. Impliedly, he will be a man unto eternity. That is a stupid doctrine. It is not based on the scriptures because in the scriptures, Jesus Christ is not a man. He is God.
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
What happened to that word?
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
So he is not a man. He was made in the likeness of man. Let us read a further proof in the book of Philippians 2:5
Phi 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Phi 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Phi 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Phi 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Is he a man? He was made in the likeness of man. He was in the form of God. It is straightforwardly translated in the Good News Bible:
GOOD NEWS BIBLE
Phi 2:6 He always had the nature of God, but he did not think that by force he should try to remain equal with God.
Phi 2:7 Instead of this, of his own free will he gave up all he had, and took the nature of a servant. He became like a human being and appeared in human likeness.
It is very clear in this rendition of the scriptures that he is not a man. What did the Iglesia ni Manalo do? They have, by their own caprices and their own inventions, made him a man from the beginning up to eternity. But the Bible tells us otherwise. If we will continue reading those verses in Philippians, although he took the form of a man, he became like a human being and he appeared in human likeness. Let us go back to that scripture in the American authorized version:
Phi 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Phi 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Phi 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Phi 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
He was exalted by God. But the Iglesia ni Cristo does not conform with the scriptures. Instead, they are halting the exaltation that is being given by God to Christ. If you are going to reread the writing in the Pasugo, Christ never changed. He's always a man from the beginning up to eternity. But the Bible tells us that God had highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name. So, there is no question that the Christ of the Iglesia ni Manalo is different from the Christ of the scriptures.

ACCEPTING THE TRUE CHRIST OF THE BIBLE Part 1 By: Bro. Eli Soriano http://www.angdatingdaan.org/biblicaltopics/bibtopics.htm
This topic has originated from our original topic which is salvation. We started our discussion from that point that salvation does not mean only accepting Christ, which the unscrupulous Born Again groups believe, asking people to just raise their hands up and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and savior. We have to be clarified, as to the teachings of the Bible, if who is the Christ that we are going to accept. Not every preacher can tell us to accept their true Christ, because it is in the scriptures that there shall arise false prophets and false Christs. In 2 Cor. 11:4, the apostle Paul said:
2 Cor. 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
And in Galatians 1:8, Paul said:
Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Anyone preaching another gospel, another Christ, and another spirit, "let him be accursed", according to Paul. That will make our point clear. It is not only the question of accepting Christ because chances are, you may accept another Christ if you have been convinced by a preacher who is not authorized by God to preach the real Christ of the scriptures. And that is no wonder and no marvel because the Bible gives warnings and we should keep those warnings that there will arise false prophets and false Christs especially in our times – religions that are teaching false and counterfeit Christs.
We have delved into this matter that we have to examine first from the scriptures if what the real Christ of the scriptures means. And as we dig deeper, it came out that Christ is the wisdom of God in a mystery. There are things about Christ that are hidden in mystery and if we are not knowledgeable of these mysteries and not the recipient of God's gift of understanding, these mysteries will remain parables to us. We cannot easily comprehend and understand them.
Now, we have been studying this topic to be sure if what is that Christ whom we are going to receive. As we have studied, there are really mysteries in Christ. It is a mystery calling himself a worm and not a man (Psalms 22:6). There are scriptures that say that He had taken the form of a man. Therefore, he was seen as a man, he spoke like a man, he lived like a man, because he had taken into himself the form and likeness of a man. He was made in the likeness of men. So, when He says that he is not a man but a worm, there is mystery behind that. Those are the things that we really need to study, search and dig. We have known that He is also a rock, He was also pictured as a hen caring for her chicks, He is also a light and so on.
After knowing these things, we are now informed of that Biblical matter of fact that Jesus Christ is not simply a man as others believe. He is not simply a savior as others believe. He is more than a savior, more than a worm, more than salt, more than a rock. I can say that He is larger than life.
Now, after knowing that there are so many mysteries hidden behind the person of Christ in the scriptures, we must learn how to accept the real Christ of the Bible. It is the only way that we can be assured of salvation. If it so happened that by chances you have accepted another Christ, instead of being saved, or instead of being a good man or a good child of God, you will become otherwise. Our Lord Jesus Christ has a warning in the Bible that if a blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
Mat 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
Another verse tells us in the book of Matthew that we should be careful:
Mat 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
It is not true that entering or having fellowship with a religious group will always make a person a better person. It will make you even worse if it so happen that you have entered a wrong religious group and followed a false preacher. According to Christ, they are making him twofold more the child of hell than themselves! How does that happen?
For a person to be good, it depends upon the spirit which is in him. It is the spirit within you that decides what kind of person you will become. There are two kinds of spirits in the Bible. If the spirit of the Lord is in you, then the fruit will be manifested in your being. You will be a better person through the Holy Spirit. But, if there is another spirit that was introduced to your person by these so-called false prophets and false preachers, then you will become worse than you were before. Remember that Matthew 12:43-45 says:
Mat 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
Mat 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Mat 12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
The last state of that man became worse than the first. What is the cause? Because of the evil spirits that have entered in his being. Don't you know that those false prophets are agents of bad spirits? That is why in 1 John 4:1, Paul admonished Christians not to believe in every spirit.
1 Joh 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Just like when you're about to eat, you do not just eat. When you're about to drink, you do not just drink but you examine first the glass where your drink is being placed. You examine if what kind of drink is that you are going to drink, because you may poison your body. You may hurt your body by means of the poison that you ingest into it. We do not just eat, we think before eating. In fact, though not visible in our eyes, there are senses in our being that can taste the food and approve if it is really palatable or beneficial to the body. Our eyes, our senses of smell, our taste buds work hand in hand together with our brains to give a good judgment before we ingest anything into our own body.
Our body is like a vehicle of spirits. Your being will depend on what kind of spirit you have in your being. If it so happened that a spirit is not of God, then that spirit will make you worse than your previous state of being. So if you are converted by these false preachers who are convincing you to accept the spirit that is in them, and if it so happened that this spirit is not the spirit that was preached by the apostles, you will become evil. Let us read 2 Cor. 11:3
2 Co 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
How can a mind be corrupted? Our minds can be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. What is the reason?
2 Co 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
Did you see that? The corruption will come from preachers. Other people say, why in spite of so many religious groups sprouting like mushrooms everywhere in the world, in spite of many religious groups preaching, there is still a decline in the morality, a decline of good manners, sympathy, love, affection towards fellowmen? Why is there a decline of everything that is good and what is climbing and soaring high is criminality? What must be expected is not happening but the opposite of what is expected. Why? There is something behind it. The rising of these preachers introducing to people different Christs, different Jesus, different spirits, different gospels, other gospels - gospel which is different from what the real apostles of Christ have preached - this is the cause of all corruption.

THE GREAT MYSTERY OF SALVATION Part 4 By: Bro. Eli Soriano http://www.angdatingdaan.org/biblicaltopics/bibtopics.htm
Continuation ...
Now, you can see these misguided Born Again preachers saying, "The church is not important anymore. You do not need the church. You just need to establish a relationship with Christ. " They are speaking out of ignorance. That is a stupid belief: that the church is not needed anymore.
This is the greatest of all mysteries that was kept in all generations from Adam up to our Lord Jesus Christ, which was revealed by God and Christ to the apostle Paul. He said that " This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church."
This is why we know that the church is so important. It is the wife to whom Jesus Christ cleaved with. He gave himself for the church. In fact, we can read that in Eph 5:24-25 --
Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Other preachers say and explain that the relationship of the church and Christ is likened unto the relationship of a man and his wife. It is just a result of ignorance in the scriptures. Why?
We have to see the relationship of Christ and the church as an example for the relationship of a man and his wife and not the other way around. The pastors and teachers of Born Again, Catholic church and other religions teach their members that the relationship of a man and his wife is the example of the relationship of Christ and the church.
It is not true. It is the opposite. "Husbands love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for it ". The church and Christ is the example of the relationship between the husband and his wife and not the other way around.
I am just emphasizing the relationship between Christ and the church. They are inseparable. It was ordained by God. It was pronounced in Eden and it was explained by our Lord Jesus Christ that " what therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder".
And this will only come true between the church and Christ. Why? It is the only entity which God has joined together that no man can put asunder. Physical husbands and wives or physical marriages have been torn. Men were successful in separating a husband and wife. A loving husband and a loving wife were separated by circumstances surrounding them. Sometimes they are separated in death as they have promised in their wedding day " until death do us part".
But the real meaning of this pronouncement in Eden means something which is great. What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder. No man can do this even until death. Let us prove that in the book of Romans 8:35-39 --
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
A man and a wife is joined by matrimony until death do they part. But the union of Christ and the church is inseparable. It is absolute. It was initiated by God himself. It was God who joined the church and Christ; therefore, what God has joined together, let no man put asunder.
Can any man separate them? No. I am convinced when Paul said – "neither death, tribulation, distress, etc" - you may even mention anything you think that can possibly separate a man and a woman but it will not apply to the relationship of Christ and the church. It is very clear.
Therefore, that pronouncement that "what therefore God has joined together let no man put asunder" applies only to the church, absolutely. It cannot absolutely apply to a physical man and a physical wife but it applies in every aspect to the relationship between Christ and the church. That is the mystery of salvation.
We have now delved into a deeper look into salvation. There must be a relationship that have to be established between men and our Lord Jesus Christ, and that is to be a part of his body or the church. In order for us to be saved and to be assured of salvation, let us be part of his body and that is the church.
Anyone who will reject the teachings concerning the church is not a Christian. For you to be rightfully called a Christian, you must accept the church. In fact, you need to be in the church. This is a great mystery, as to what the apostle Paul has said. Are you now convinced that there is a mystery in salvation?
It is not as simple as preachers of the Born Again and Baptist movements claim that salvation is very simple; that you just have to raise your hand and you are saved! In order for you to be saved you need to be a part of Christ's body. This is a long process. And for you to establish a relationship with Christ, a relationship that will not fade away, a relationship that will not be destroyed or broken by any factor, you have to understand this mystery in it's entirety. And that will be our next topic.
Our topic is: What is that mystery between the relationship of Christ and the church which is a very important factor of salvation? We will study that in the next episode of our program. We need to be well-informed regarding the promised salvation.
You see, the finale of human history as revealed in the scriptures is a "wedding". The finale is a wedding. Of whom? The wedding of the Lamb. Let us read that in the book of Revelation. This is the final thing that will happen, gloriously, in the appointed day.
Rev 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready ." Are we ready? Let us all prepare, brothers and sisters. Are you ready for the wedding ceremonies of the Lamb that is to come? That is the final stage of human history. And it won't be too long. And we invite everyone to follow, to continue watching and listening to this program so that they will be informed of what is to come.
Have you been invited to come into a wedding ceremony? I believe this is one of the most glorious ceremony or celebration known to human. Since time in memorial, cultures, nations, races, people around the globe regard marriage as something that is very important. They have diverse ceremonies, rituals concerning marriage.
We will now peep - I say peep because we cannot see the whole picture of it in the scriptures. We will just experience the whole glory of it if we will be there present in that marriage. We will peep into that in the next episode of this program.

THE GREAT MYSTERY OF SALVATION Part 3 By: Bro. Eli Soriano http://www.angdatingdaan.org/biblicaltopics/bibtopics.htm

Going back to our topic, we have briefly proven that Paul is really a recipient of a revelation which was not received by other apostles. Now regarding that great mystery which he was explaining to the Ephesians, he was the only apostle who told us about this mystery. He said --
Eph 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Of course, he received this from our Lord Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul is telling us the whole truth about that pronouncement from God which was heard by Moses and which was explained by our Lord Jesus Christ that “two shall be one flesh." The two will be one. Who are these two which will be one? That is our Lord Jesus Christ and the church.
That is the mystery behind that. It doesn’t mean that it was Adam and Eve. After all, Adam does not have a mother and a father. He may be rightfully called a son of God because it was God who created him but he doesn’t have a mother. Adam is the only man who did not have a mother. How will this quotation fit Adam - “a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh”?
What is being mentioned here by the apostle Paul is really a great mystery. And this is one of the great mysteries of salvation - that for us to be saved, we have to be one in flesh with our Lord Jesus Christ. And how can we be one flesh with him? We must be members of his body and that body is the church. Can you now imagine what will happen to these Born Again movements who do not recognize the church as an instrument of God’s salvation?
They say that the church is not that important. They even claim that the church is not needed anymore; what is important is not the church, not the religion but the relationship itself. How can you establish a relation between yourself and Christ outside the church when the church is the direct recipient of that relationship likened to the relationship of a man and his wife? That is a great mystery according to Paul, we have to be members of his body, his bones, his flesh, and the body is the church. Let us read that in Col 1:18 --
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the head of the body which is the church. The church is the body of Christ. If Christ was saved - maybe this is a new to many people, or something that they may ridicule or laugh at when I mention that Christ was saved. Is he saved? For you to be a savior you must be saved. What do I mean? Can you be a savior when you yourself are not saved? Who saved him? Let us read it from the scriptures. It is not a common thing but this is in the scriptures. Let us read Heb 5:7-9 --
Heb 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Did you see that? Was he saved? He was saved from death. Of course, he died, but God raised him from the dead. He was saved from death and Jesus Christ being saved from death can also save us. Let us prove that in Heb 2:14 --
Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Jesus Christ when he was in the flesh was saved by God; spiritually and physically, he was saved from death. Therefore he qualifies to be a savior. You cannot be a savior if you are not saved.
Jesus Christ was saved by God. Therefore, it qualifies him to be a savior. And for us to be saved, we must be a member of him that was saved? How? Let us be members of his body. So we are his flesh, his bones, his blood, his body. This is a great mystery. “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery but I speak concerning Christ and the church”.
Let us examine this mystery. Did Christ have that chance to have a mother? He has Mary as his mother in the flesh. How about the Father? Of course, his Father is God in heaven. Did he leave his father in heaven? Yes. Did he equally leave his mother? Yes, that is why Mary was going around searching for him when he said that “how is it that ye sought me"? Let us read that in Luke 2:49 --
Luk 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
“How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?”. Christ must always be minded of his father’s business. That is why he left Mary as he also equally left his Father in heaven.
Although he is enjoying his glory with his father in heaven, he thought it not robber to be equal with God and took upon him the form of a servant. Let us read Phil 2:6-7 --
Phi 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Phi 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
That is clear. It is now established through Biblical passages that Jesus Christ our Lord was the man being mentioned by God in the book of Genesis that “a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh”.
So, Paul was right. He had known something which Moses did not understand. He had received revelation which was not known to all ages of man since the time of Adam.
Adam has presumed that he was the man who is being mentioned in that pronouncement of God in Eden. Maybe he believed that the pronouncement concerns a man and his wife. Maybe Abraham believed that as well. Maybe Isaac also believed that and so as Jacob.
Maybe other servants of God who led a holy life also believe that until the time of our Lord Jesus Christ, when he explained the meaning of that verse to apostle Paul; giving him a very clear interpretation of that pronouncement in Eden that “for this cause shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh”.
“Wherefore”, (this is now the explanation of the savior), "they are not two but one flesh. What therefore God had joined together, let no man put asunder”, according to our Lord Jesus Christ.
What is this joining together being mentioned by our Lord Jesus Christ? He is speaking of himself and the church. He was saved. He was joined unto the church and the church was joined unto him. So, Christ must cleave to his wife and that is the church which he exactly did in the 1st century of his preaching. He had shown evidences that he really cleaved unto his wife which is the church. He gave everything in him for the church.

THE GREAT MYSTERY OF SALVATION Part 2 By: Bro. Eli Soriano http://www.angdatingdaan.org/biblicaltopics/bibtopics.htm
Continuation ...
Now, it was understood by Moses that it pertains to the relationship between a man and his wife. But here comes another thing which according to St. Paul is a great mystery. Why great? Because it was not understood by Moses, even the succeeding generations that have passed until it was explained by our Lord Jesus Christ unto Paul.
There is no doubt that Paul had a great revelation from Jesus Christ himself. That is a fact that we cannot deny. Our Lord Jesus Christ said to Ananias that he must go to him because he is a chosen vessel unto our Lord. In the book of Acts 9:15 it says --
Act 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
Our Lord Jesus Christ called Paul as a chosen vessel unto him. Chosen in the sense that he will show him things which he did not show other apostles. Paul is a recipient of a more wisdom and understanding than other apostles have received.
And to prove that Paul is a kind of apostle who has received more revelations than other apostles, there are quotations coming from the Lord Jesus Christ himself, which the apostle Paul has mentioned which were not written by other apostles. Like what? Like this: that “this is a great mystery”, according to Paul. That mystery is between the relationship of a man and his wife. Another thing in the book of Acts when he said --
Act 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
It is only the apostle Paul who said that thing. You try reading all the writing of other apostles - Matthew, Mark, the evangelist Luke, John - and you will not encounter such a pronouncement except from the apostle Paul.
Like what we are studying now. The great mystery I am speaking of is only in accordance to what Paul has said. And this revelation according to Paul, were hidden in all ages of human history. Let us read in Romans 16:25-26 --
Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Rom 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
“The revelation of the mystery which was kept secret since the world began”. Since the time of Adam and Eve, since the time of Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, there are mysteries kept secret until the time ordained by God that he will reveal those mysteries. And that is the time of the apostles, especially during the time of Paul. Let us read in Colossians 1:24-26 --
Col 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
Col 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
Have you noticed that last verse? “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints”. When? During his time. In fact, he was a recipient of so many revelations. To prove this, let us read 2 Cor 12:1-7 --
2Co 12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2Co 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
2Co 12:3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
2Co 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
2Co 12:5 Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
2Co 12:6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
2Co 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
What kind of revelation did he receive from the Lord? Paul said: "And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh”.
These verses tell us about the revelations that were received by Paul himself. Actually he was talking about himself; he was the one who was caught up unto paradise wherein he heard unspeakable words which are unlawful for any man to utter. That is the kind of an apostle Paul is.

THE GREAT MYSTERY OF SALVATION Part 1 Bro. Eli Soriano (www.angdatingdaan.org) Good day to everyone. We are now going forward in our quest for God's truth regarding salvation. I said that we are going forward because we will not stop here. We have known that salvation is a very broad thing and we have to analyze each issue regarding salvation. Of course, there are issues in salvation, whether our listeners accept it or not. I say " issues" because religious groups are not one in teaching the process or the way to salvation. There are groups that believe that salvation is instant, that by raising your hands and accepting our Lord Jesus Christ as allegedly " your own personal Lord and Savior", you will be saved without doing anything. And once salvation is obtained you will not lose it as the Baptists claim that once you are saved, you are always saved. We have proven that to be incorrect beyond any reasonable doubt. There are chances wherein a Christian may fall or can be a reprobate. Reprobate means that they were once enlightened, they were ones living with God, but they became reprobates because of their misdeeds.
Now, I said that we must forward or advance our studies because there are still other issues to clarify regarding salvation. For example, there is a mystery that is in Christ that we have to understand for us to be saved. For our Lord Jesus Christ to save us, we have to be a part of that great mystery in the scriptures. To start, I want to read this in the book of Eph. 5:30-32 --
Eph 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
These verses tell us of a great mystery, according to Paul. Whether people appreciate this or not, that is not our concern. Our concern is to preach what is in the scriptures. According to Paul, (he is speaking to the Christians of Ephesus) he said that " we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones." So, the oneness of Christians or the congregation of Christians, according to Paul, pertains to what he said that, " we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones."
Of course, that is not the physical body of Christ. That is not the physical being of Christ while he was on earth some 2000 years ago. When the apostle Paul said that we are members of his body, of his flesh and of his bones, he means something else. And for this cause he said in verse 31-32, " shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church."
This is a mystery which was misunderstood throughout all the ages of human history. Why do we say that this was misunderstood? Evidently in the scriptures, Moses had written such a pronouncement. If we will read in the book of Genesis 2:23-24 --
Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
After creating Eve from one of the ribs of Adam, God handed Eve to Adam. He gave Eve, the woman, unto the man whom he had made. Upon receiving Eve, there was a poetic utterance of Adam which says: " This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." That was what Adam said. But what was the interpretation of Moses? Let us continue in 24 --
Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
That "therefore" is now coming from Moses and not from Adam anymore. The idea came from Moses and it did not come from Adam. Moses said this because he presumed that the earthly or the carnal relationship that have to take place between a man and his wife is what is meant by this quotation from God. Of course, this came from God himself. Moses heard this from God, "shall a man leave his father and his mother… "
And to prove that the quotation really came from God himself, let us read Mat. 19:4-5 --
Mat 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
Mat 19:5 And said …
"And said .." Who said that? In verse 4, "He which made them…" It is very clear on the explanation of our Lord Jesus Christ when he answered the scribes and Pharisees. (Jesus Christ is speaking in this occasion). Christ said, " Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said…" Who said? It is the creator. It is God. What did God say? Let us read verse 5 --
Mat 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
And in verse 6 --
Mat 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Who is speaking in verse 6? It is our legislator, our Lord Jesus Christ. He interpreted what the Father had said during the time of Moses. The interpretation is that: " Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not no man put asunder."
So, it is God who is establishing the relationship between the man and the woman. He is joining them together as one. They are not anymore twain but one flesh. That was the pronouncement heard by Moses from God and he applied it to the relationship of Adam and Eve.
But if we will to analyze deeply what the Bible says, remember that Moses is writing this incidence many thousands of years after the creation. Moses is just telling us what happened in the garden of Eden wherein he was not present yet. This writing is by the inspiration of the holy spirit and by the dictate of the holy spirit. He is telling us something that he had heard from God; that there is a pronouncement from God telling that " a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife and the twain shall be one flesh".
